The inspector general of police Mohammed Adamu has dissolved federal special Anti-Robbery squad of the nigeria police force.
After several online and offline protest against the brutality and misconduct of the fsars and some bad eggs in the nigeria police force using it as a means of extortion, the IGP announced it on a live broadcast on sunday.
He said "the federal special anti robbery squad of the nigeria police force also known as SARS is hereby dissolved in all the 36 states police command and the federal capital territory."
A lot of nigerians still insisted that the federal government should set up a body to monitor the nigeria police officers, because even after dissolving the fsars group they will still continue with the same attitude since they are still under the shadow of the nigeria police force.
