Former Governor of Adamawa State Murtala Nyako to be sentenced after an alleged N29billion fraud

The Former Governor of Adamawa State Murtala Nyako his set to face Chief Justice Abang Okon over the alleged case of N29billion at the Federal High Court In Abuja today.



Murtala will not only be facing the final verdict from Justice Okon but alongside with his Son Abdul Aziz Nyako and two other persons with some companies as they are all involve in this nefarious act.


The Former Military Governor of Niger State Murtala Ayako, also the former vice admiral for Nigeria Navy, was elected as the Governor of Adamawa State in May 2007 and On the 26th of April 2008 he was impeached following an alleged electoral malpractice.


A fresh election was conducted and Nyako was declared winner in 2008 and in 2014 he was impeached for the alleged N29billion which will be fully reviewed today and a final verdict will be declared.


Although Murtala’s lawyer Ibrahim Isiaka has filed a no case report stating that his client in person of the Former Governor of Adamawa State his not guilty of the allegations laid on him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, also said the body (EFCC) should show a prove that the money in question was obtained through illegal act.
