The online space erupted into a heated debate after singer Bloody Civilian made bold claims about Helen Ukpabio, the controversial Nigerian clergywoman, on her 60th birthday.

The allegations sparked a fiery exchange with Ima Elijah, Ukpabio’s daughter, who passionately defended her mother.

It all began when Bloody Civilian, known for her provocative social commentary, tweeted about Helen Ukpabio’s controversial history.

“She literally made people burn their children alive,” she claimed, referencing Ukpabio's alleged influence over practices tied to accusations of witchcraft.

The tweet immediately caught the attention of Ima Elijah, who swiftly issued a stern warning to the singer.

“I give you the next five hours to take this down,” she responded, adding, “I will educate you in court!”

Rather than back down, Bloody Civilian fired back with a cutting reply.

“Use your connections to remove her UK ban. She needs you. Pls.”

The reference to Helen Ukpabio’s alleged troubles with UK authorities only fanned the flames. Ima Elijah, visibly enraged, lashed out at Bloody Civilian, calling her an "idiot" and accusing her of disrespecting a “great influence on the culture” she now benefits from.

“You are a bloody idiot!” she wrote in an emotional outburst. “Disrespecting my mother is bloody unwise of you, child!”

Undeterred, Bloody Civilian doubled down on her stance, shifting the focus to international scrutiny of the clergywoman’s controversial reputation.

“Look, you are free to have your perspective,” she wrote. “But before you cook me, you will cook the UK border control for throwing her out while she was on vacation, Sahara Reporters for asking her why she's evil, and the journalists at DW Documentary for asking her to stop killing children.”

The exchange quickly escalated as Ima Elijah accused Bloody Civilian of being uninformed and dismissive of her personal experiences.

“Shush!” she retorted. “It’s not my POV! This is my reality! No reasonable person takes news from Sahara Reporters! Jesus! ABC! Please go and research!”

The back-and-forth between the two personalities drew widespread attention, dividing public opinion on social media.

Supporters of Bloody Civilian applauded her boldness in calling out Helen Ukpabio’s controversial history, which has been the subject of documentaries and media scrutiny. Critics, however, accused her of disrespecting a religious leader and overstepping boundaries.

Helen Ukpabio, the founder of the Liberty Gospel Church, has long been a polarizing figure in Nigeria and beyond. She has faced accusations of promoting harmful practices tied to witchcraft beliefs, with critics alleging that her teachings have encouraged child abuse and ostracism.

The singer’s reference to the UK border control highlights reports that Ukpabio was denied entry to the country at one point due to her controversial reputation.

However, supporters of Ukpabio, including her daughter Ima Elijah, argue that the clergywoman has been a misunderstood figure who has contributed positively to Nigerian culture and faith.

As the exchange gained momentum, hashtags related to the feud trended on Twitter, with thousands of users chiming in on the issue.

Some questioned the ethics of calling out a public figure on their birthday, while others applauded the singer’s courage in speaking truth to power.

“Ima is standing up for her mother, which is understandable,” one user tweeted. “But Bloody Civilian is raising valid concerns about Helen Ukpabio’s legacy. Both sides have a right to their opinions.”

Others were less forgiving, accusing Bloody Civilian of insensitivity.

“Why attack someone on their 60th birthday?” another user commented. “There’s a time and place for everything, and this was just wrong.”

Meanwhile, Bloody Civilian appeared unfazed by the backlash. She continued to engage with fans and critics alike, retweeting supportive messages and maintaining her stance on the matter.

Ima Elijah, on the other hand, emphasized her personal connection to the issue, arguing that Bloody Civilian’s comments were not only disrespectful but also uninformed.

“This isn’t just about opinions,” she wrote. “It’s about facts and experiences. And no one has the right to tell me about my mother.”

The clash has reignited conversations about Helen Ukpabio’s controversial teachings and their impact on Nigerian society.

While some see her as a spiritual leader who has brought hope to her followers, others view her as a symbol of the dangers of unchecked religious influence.

As the dust settles, it remains to be seen whether the feud will escalate further or if both parties will move on.

For now, the exchange has left social media abuzz, sparking debates about freedom of speech, accountability, and the complexities of cultural and religious identity in modern Nigeria.

Only time will tell whether this fiery clash will lead to legal action or if it will simply fade into the annals of Twitter drama.
