Barcelona President Joan Laporta has finally disclosed how he wanted the former Barcelona magician Lionel Messi to play for free.
Laporta who disclosed how heart broken he was after a long discussion he had with Messi to stay back in Barcelona and play without any monetary gain.
According to Laporta, he said “I hope until the last minute there would be a U-turn and Messi would say ‘I will play for free.’
“We discussed about it but it was left for him to take the final decision if he will stay or leave.”
Barcelona has suffered numerous defeat after Messi’s departure as the club set to look for a better manager to take over from the Dutch man Ronald Koeman.
