The Prime Minister of the commonwealth of Bahamas Dr. Hubert Minnis has reacted to the general election coming up on the 16th of September 2021 as he called the citizens attention to the most disastrous virus hovering around the world at large.
Dr. Hubert who further emphasis that Citizens should come out in large numbers to vote on September 16, but only those who are completely vaccinated.
According to Dr. Hubert, he said “Bahamians 65 years and above will be permitted to vote in the advance polls in the upcoming General Election.
“I want to ensure Bahamians that the voting process will be safe. I encourage all who are eligible to go out and vote.”

Minnis said “More than 11,400 doses of vaccines were administered last week, these increased numbers in vaccinations show progress in the country but there is still much work to do.
“Some 129,017 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered since the start of the government’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
“As of Saturday, 55,291 Bahamians and residents have been fully vaccinated, including those abroad, who have registered with the Ministry of Health.
“The government has secured half a million vaccine doses, including Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson throughout its vaccination campaign.”
Minnis called all leaders in the country to unite behind the message, “let’s get vaccinated”.
He called on religious leaders, media commentators, union leaders, political parties and candidates, businesses, civic groups and NGOs to encourage Bahamians to take the vaccine.
“By us taking the vaccines in large numbers, we can go back to more openness.”
Dr Hubert advised tonight that the COVID-19 emergency orders limit campaigning to five people in a group, all of whom must be fully vaccinated.
